The Madrid court judges who heard the case found that the complaint contained “objective evidence” that a crime may have been committed, which “legitimizes the investigation,” according to a decision cited by Spanish media.
The complaint against Begoña Gómez, filed by an association linked to the far right, concerned links between Pedro Sánchez’s wife and private companies that received public support during the Covid-19 crisis or signed contracts with the state when her husband was already prime minister .
