According to data from the Brazilian Federal Police provided to Lusa by the country’s diplomatic mission to the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries (CPLP), since the publication of interministerial resolution 40/2023 from September last year to March this year, the country has issued 3,947 residence permits, most of which were issued to Angolan citizens , that is 2396.
In second place over the same period were citizens of Guinea-Bissau, who were granted 873 residence permits in Brazil by the CPLP.
