The launch of the Boeing Starliner rocket that was supposed to carry NASA astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS) for the first time was canceled in the last few minutes today.
A last-minute problem, which the company did not detail, interrupted the launch countdown when it reached three minutes and 50 seconds.
The launch was previously delayed to allow leak testing and repairs to the rocket.
Boeing announced a week ago that it was preparing to launch its first astronaut into space in early June after spending weeks resolving problems with the Starliner space capsule.
Transporting astronauts to the International Space Station on Boeing’s Starliner has already been delayed for several years.
SpaceX has been flying crews since 2020, and NASA wants both companies to operate a taxi service so they can support each other.
