The Belgian newspapers DH-Les Sports and La Libre Belgique, as well as the news channel LN24, part of the IPM group, reported this Wednesday that they were the target of a cyber attack.
“The IPM (Information and Multimedia Production) group is monitoring the situation, our sites and applications are working normally,” the media said in a statement.
“Newspapers should be published this Thursday morning in a simplified manner,” said media outlets controlled by the family of businessman Francois le Houdet.
The consortium added that the investigation is ongoing and that “specialized teams are being mobilized to ensure continuity of service to readers and advertisers.”
“The IPM Group reaffirms here its determination to continue its mission of outreach, which is all the more important during this election period,” the group added in a press release.
Along with the European Parliament elections on Sunday, Belgium will also hold regional and federal elections.
In addition to the attacked media, the IPM group controls the Belgian magazines Moustique, Télé Pocket, Paris Match Belgique, Courrier International (together with Le Monde) and others.
