Rock in Rio leads to parking restrictions in several places in Lisbon

Rock in Rio arrives in Lisbon this Saturday and traffic restrictions must be taken into account. In a statement, the Public Security Police (PSP) said that from 8 am on the 14th (today) to 4 am on the 17th and from 8 am on the 21st to 4 am on the 24th, A parking survey will be carried out on several arteries near the Tagus Park, where the festival will take place:

– Via do Oriente from Rua Chen He Street and Captain Cook Street;
– Via do Oriente, from Captain Cook Street to the Rotunda to Trancao;
– Via do Oriente (the entire park under the IC2 viaduct);
– Heróis do Mar Walk (next to Colégio Pedro Arrupe, before the roundabout);
– Passeio das Gaivotas (next to Passeio Heróis do Mar – parking exclusively for motorcycles);
– Av. Dom João II (opposite the Vasco da Gama shopping center), between the Av. Do Índico and Av. De Berlin is an exclusive stop for minibuses and people with limited mobility;
– Rua Antonio Mega Ferreira, with access to the park (next to Berlin Avenue, on both sides);
– Tagus Tour (Gerois do Mar tour) – exclusive terminal for disembarking and waiting for various excursion shuttles with signs;
– EN 10 with Rua Domingos José Morais (excluding residents, local businesses and professional access to the construction site);
– EN 10 from Rua Fábrica da Loiça de Sacavém (except for residents and public transport access to the temporary terminal created next to the Rua Fábrica da Loiça de Sacavém station).

The show, which takes place on June 15, 16, 22 and 23, draws approximately 85,000 people each day, with doors scheduled to open at 1 p.m. and the last show ending at midnight. On the 15th, 16th and 23rd the site closes at 1:00, and on the 22nd at 2:00.

PSP further states that on exhibition days, other restrictions will apply from 8:00 to 3:00.:

– Via do Oriente and Calle Professor Picard;
– Via do Oriente and Rua Chen He;
– Tour of Heroes Maru with Professor Picard Street;
– Rua Domingos José Morais with the IC2 viaduct roundabout;
– Walk Heroes do Mar along Rua Príncipe do Monaco (roundabout).

From 12:00 to 03:00 the following conditions will apply:

– Parish Council Park (Professor Picard Street – exclusive park for Rock in Rio tours with signs);
– Av. Dom Joao II with Av. De Berlin;
– Rua do Bojador (My Riad hotel);
– Av. House of Joao II and Av. Aquilino Ribeiro Machado;
– House of John II with the Pilgrimage Rotunda; This
– Av. Dom Juan II with Ford Expo Rotunda.

The PSP also guarantees that public transport (Carris, CP and Metropolitano de Lisboa) “scheduled to extend its period of operation on all operating days” and that “regularization of traffic will be ensured on the main access roads to the Tagus Park.” “In the event of a serious accident, emergency corridors will be guaranteed, providing for the deployment of reconnaissance personnel if necessary,” the department says.
