Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Thursday that Ukrainian intelligence services had intercepted a Russian plan aimed at destabilizing the political order in Moldova.
Zelenskiy said in a speech at a special meeting of the European Council that Ukraine had warned Moldovan President Maia Sandu about Russia’s intentions, according to a Ukrainian news agency. Ukrinform.
“Recently, I spoke with Ms. Sandu and informed her that our special services managed to intercept a Russian plan aimed at destroying the political situation in Moldova. This is a Russian document that shows who, when and under what conditions could violate the democratic order and control over the country,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
The President of Ukraine also said that after receiving the document, he did not hesitate and immediately warned Moldova about Russian threats.
“We do not know if Moscow gave any order to carry out this plan, but we saw what they were going to do, and we saw in it exactly what they [os russos] they have already been tried against Ukraine and against other states, especially in Europe. Nothing new,” Zelensky concluded.
Zelensky visited Brussels this Thursday and met with the European Council.
