“I stabbed him in the head and several parts of his body.” This is how Nuno Patricio describes the death of 62-year-old pianist Pedro Queiroz, brutally beaten, bound and left to starve in the bathroom of his drug dealer’s home last March.
The trial of Nuno Patricio and three other accomplices began on Tuesday in the Setúbal court. Two are accused of murder and are in pre-trial detention. Both admitted the crime and never expressed regret. There is a fifth defendant accused of desecration of a corpse who testified on Tuesday and said the main suspect forced him to carry Pedro’s body. “Nuno gave the orders. I was and am afraid of him,” he said in front of the panel of judges.
There is also a woman suspected of stealing Pedro Queiroz’s bank cards.
The motive for the crime was 80 thousand euros. The victim sold the house in Olivais and received this amount. The suspects had this information and beat him to death to get the money.
