On Tuesday, Brazilian President Lula da Silva praised the release of Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, considering it a “democratic victory” that makes the world “less unfair.”
“The world today is a little better and less unfair. Julian Assange is free after 1901 days in prison,” the Brazilian head of state wrote on the social network X.
For Lula da Silva, the release of the Wikileaks founder and his return home “represent, albeit belatedly, a democratic victory and the fight for press freedom.”
