Cape Verdean President José Maria Neves expressed his desire to strengthen cooperation with Mozambique on Tuesday in a congratulatory message addressed to his counterpart Filipe Nyusi on the occasion of the 49th anniversary of independence.
“The head of state reaffirmed to President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi his continued commitment to strengthening the relations of friendship and cooperation” that unite the two countries, the Cape Verdean presidency said in a statement.
The message addressed “heartfelt congratulations and new wishes for prosperity, prosperity and peace” to the people of the “brotherly country” of Mozambique.
This Tuesday, the Portuguese-speaking country celebrates a national holiday in honor of the 49th anniversary of independence, proclaimed by first President Samora Machel at the Machava Stadium in Maputo.
The ceremony was led by Filipe Nyusi, who is completing his second and final term as head of state.
