A train traveling from Prague to Budapest collided with a bus in southern Slovakia on Thursday, killing at least five people and injuring five, according to Slovak authorities and emergency services.
As reported by washington postThe accident occurred at about 17:00 in the area of the city of New Castles; there were more than 100 people in the convoy, who were taken by bus to the city of Sturovo.
According to railway authorities, video footage shows the train’s locomotive burned out and the bus was seriously damaged.
According to the newspaper, the main railway connecting the Slovak capital Bratislava with Budapest was closed. Interior Minister Matus Sutai Estok also arrived at the scene.
