Audrey Tang, a British psychologist, posted a video on social mediaTik Tak’ where he reveals some phrases that can relieve stress and help you stay “cool” during the workday.
“I can’t save people from themselves,” “Even if I can’t control anything else, I can control my breathing,” and “I don’t need to listen to anyone I wouldn’t ask for advice from” are three statements you should tell yourself when you’re faced with a situation that makes you feel uncomfortable.
Audrey Tan explains that these affirmations should be said “ideally on one exhale.”
“It’s a great way to find some space without forcing yourself to calm down,” the psychologist adds.
According to Daily mailA study published earlier this year found that talking kindly to yourself for less than a minute a day can improve mental health.
Researchers from the University of California, Berkeley, US, found that those who say positive affirmations daily have greater self-compassion, emotional well-being and less stress compared to those who do not.
