The President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, on Tuesday condemned Russia’s attacks on civilian targets in Ukraine, including children, which he considers shocking, saying they are serious violations of international law.
This position is contained in a message published on the official website of the President of the Republic on the Internet, through which “Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa confirms Portugal’s unwavering commitment to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.”
“The President of the Republic, like the government, strongly condemns the Russian attacks on Kyiv and other regions of Ukraine, which, among civilian objects, damaged the largest Ukrainian children’s hospital, which led to dozens of deaths and countless injuries,” the statement reads.
