The Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco (IPCB) has signed two consignment notes worth 3.4 million euros for energy and water efficiency works in three of its six higher education institutions.
“The signing of these two documents of introduction marks the effective start of the work and is the culmination of a journey that began with the approval of two applications submitted by IPCB for the Energy Efficiency in Central Public Administration Buildings Programme,” he said in a statement sent this Wednesday to Lusa, the president of the institution, António Fernandes.
The work to improve energy and water efficiency will be carried out in two schools located on the Talageira campus (Escola Superior de Tecnologia and Escola Superior de Saúde Dr. Lopes Dias) and on the Senhora de Mercules campus (Escola Superior Agrária).
“These activities will have a clear positive impact on the overall environmental performance of the institution, will contribute to improving the comfortable conditions for the entire IPCB academic community and reflect our commitment to promoting progress and quality of life for all citizens,” concluded the IPCB President.
The work will begin in the next few days and will last for 180 days straight.
Contracts concluded following open tender are covered by a 10-year warranty against defects in building elements, five years for non-load-bearing building elements or installations and two years for equipment used in the works.
