Mark Zuckerberg: “I’m the most famous of my generation”

The founder of Facebook and co-founder and CEO of Meta, the company that owns WhatsApp and Instagram, claimed in emails he exchanged with executives and board members of the tech giant that he is the “most famous person” of his generation. The emails were published in the newsletter “Internal Tech Emails” and later published on the North American website Business Insider.

“While our company plays a special role in the lives of this generation, it’s probably especially important to how I present myself as the most famous person of my generation,” Zuckerberg wrote in a post on January 4, 2020.

Mark Zuckerberg is one of the most famous and youngest personalities in the tech world, but when you look at the social media followings of several millennials, he is far from the most popular.

Cristiano Ronaldo has 634 million followers, Beyoncé has 317 million, and Taylor Swift has 283 million. Meta’s CEO has just 14 million followers.

Zuckerberg is a controversial figure. Some admire him, while others view him with suspicion. He has become a hero of films and books and is considered one of the most influential and powerful people in the modern world.

In 2010, he was named “Person of the Year” by Forbes magazine and has since been ranked among the 100 richest and most influential people in the world with a fortune estimated at more than €185 billion.
