João Pedro Luro, president of the JSD, refused to be interviewed live on CMTV. He had initially agreed to speak after the program “Doa a que doer,” but gave up less than an hour before the show was scheduled to begin.
The explanations put forward were related to the father’s deteriorating health, which he said was caused by stress.
That’s why João Pedro Louro didn’t explain what he did to his grandfather and what he plans to do now to save his uncle, who continues to live among the garbage.
In a message sent to the CM, João Pedro Luro once again confirmed that he knows nothing and assured that he will never abandon his grandfather.
“My grandfather lives in a house in Odivelas with my uncle, who has a psychiatric problem related to the accumulation of garbage,” he said, contradicting what he had told Correio da Mañão less than 24 hours earlier: “My uncle has no psychiatric problem. At least he has never been diagnosed.”
Another explanation from this young party leader is that his cousin is to blame, having fought in court for three years for someone to resolve the situation.
He called the PSP, the Social Security Service, and reported the case to the Odivelas Chamber. “Despite the conflict between my cousin and my father, I regret that my cousin did not inform me about this earlier so that we could resolve the issue,” he said.
Sonia Louro denies this version and claims to have established several contacts with the family. “We called Father João Pedro, who is my uncle’s mentor, several times. He always told us not to interfere and at some point he stopped answering the phone. We turned to the CM when we no longer had solutions. I could not let them die there,” he lamented.
