The spate of robberies has angered owners of establishments linked to restaurants in Peniche, who want action to be taken quickly so that the perpetrator of the crimes is arrested.
The thefts are committed under cover of night: the suspect searches the streets for stones of a certain size to throw at windows and enter to commit the robbery. He wears a hood or hat to hide his identity, but CCTV cameras allow him to be identified.
“We know who this person is. It’s always the same, the same operating principle, we have already filed a complaint and we are waiting for something to be done,” said Nelson Frutuoso, owner of Café do Parque.
Fernando Pereira, owner of the restaurant Maresia, tells us. CM that “concerns are growing,” adding that “there must be solutions.” The tip box containing 2,000 euros was removed from the establishment, but the damage amounted to around 700 euros.
