The FBI has identified Thomas Matthew Crooks, a 20-year-old white man, as “involved in the attempted murder” of former US President Donald Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania.
The young man, a native of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, was a registered Republican. Reuters.
“The FBI has identified Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, as the individual involved in the July 13 assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania. This remains an active and ongoing investigation, and anyone with information that could assist in the investigation is encouraged to post photos or videos online,” the FBI said in a statement, which refers to CNN had access.
The attack, which occurred just days before Donald Trump became the official Republican presidential nominee, left two dead, including the shooter, and two seriously injured. Trump was hit in the ear, but is healthy.
