Gabriel Veron, a Porto player on loan to Cruzeiro, crashed his luxury car into the wall of an apartment building on Sunday. in Vespasiano, in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte, in Brazil, and after the crash he drove the car to a parking lot at home. Neighbors say there is “serious disorder,” and Brazilian police do not know the whereabouts of the attacker.
According to Brazilian military police, the 22-year-old player was driving his Mercedes GLE400 (worth around 100,000 euros) at high speed and crashed into the wall of an apartment building, damaging a sign and a sidewalk.
Neighbours tried to contact the driver of the car, but the player immediately drove the car away from the scene and parked it in front of his house. Authorities went to Veron’s house, where two witnesses (19 and 26 years old) introduced themselves as passengers in the car, but witness statements indicate that the real driver of the car was the FC Porto athlete.
Cruzeiro has not released a statement on the incident and it is not yet known whether Gabriel Veron has sustained any injuries.
