Trump hailed as hero at Republican convention

Always flanked by security guards who formed a protective perimeter around him, Trump later joined some family members and his running mate, J.D. Vance, in a box to watch the first day of hearings on the economy, which included testimony from six “everyday Americans” about the hardships of inflation.

Trump will not speak until after the convention, Thursday night, to accept the party’s nomination for the White House, promising to deliver a speech to “unite America and the world” in the wake of the attack that targeted him.

On Monday night, Sen. Tim Scott, Trump’s former Republican primary opponent, summed up the crowd’s sentiment by attributing the candidate’s survival to divine intervention. “Our God still saves. According to CNN, the day before the attack, Crooks tested a scope at a gun club and on the day of the attack, he bought 50 bullets and a ladder to climb onto the roof.

The US received information weeks ago about an alleged Iranian plot to assassinate Trump. However, there is currently no evidence of any connection to last Saturday’s attack.
