During the check of foreign citizens in the municipality of Odemira, the GNR identified 66 citizens illegally residing in Portugal.
According to a source in the GNR, as a result of this action, 610 foreign citizens were checked and 66 violation notices were issued due to the lack of notification of entry into the national territory after three working days.
Ten violation reports were also drawn up for failure to comply with laws and regulations concerning land and road transport.
The verification operation was carried out on June 16 by the Coastal and Border Control Unit (UCCF) through the Territorial Units of Immigration Inspection (NFTI) of the Portimão and Lisbon Border Detachments.
The operation was reinforced by soldiers from the Territorial Department, the Movement and Intervention Department of the Beja Territorial Command and three binomials from the Evora Department of the Cinematographic Intervention Group.
The event also included cooperation between the Agency for Migration and Integration of Refugees (AIMA) and the Coordination Unit for Borders and Foreigners (UCFE).
