“She was stabbed in the house and fled to the street with her son. There is blood everywhere. It’s a tragedy.” These are the words of Isabelle Lagesh, a resident of the Paulo Vidal square in Braga, where a 30-year-old woman was stabbed at least three times by her partner this Monday.
The victim’s son, who is only two years old, watched everything. I was shocked when the police arrived at the scene. “The boy was crying and calling his mother. The police took him away,” he said.
The woman was taken to Braga hospital in critical condition. The assailant, a 23-year-old Brazilian, hid in the building’s garage shortly after committing the crime, but eventually turned himself in to the PSP, which is investigating. The victim has two minor children, neither of whom is the child of the attacker.
