The IRS has issued a warning about fraudulent emails asking people to ignore them.
“HMRC is aware that some taxpayers are receiving emails purporting to be from AT asking them to click on ‘links’. [hiperligações] which are provided for,” the department said in a statement published on its portal.
In the note, AT provides examples of fraudulent notices that highlight inaccuracies in IRS returns.
“These messages are false and should be ignored,” AT stresses, adding that their purpose is to “convince the recipient to access malicious pages.”
“Do not carry out this operation under any circumstances,” the agency warned, recommending that you read the information security brochure available on the Financial Portal.
