Former US President Donald Trump has taken to social media to slam Joe Biden after he announced he was dropping his bid for the White House. The Republican said the incumbent US president lied about his Covid-19 diagnosis and that the Republican Party should be reimbursed for campaign money spent when the decision was being made between him and the Democrat.
“We are forced to spend time and money fighting the corrupt Joe Biden, who after a terrible debate, polled poorly and dropped out of the race. Now we have to start over. The Republican Party should not be compensated for fraud.” “to the point that everyone around Joe, including his doctors and the Fake News Media, knew he was unfit to run or be President?” Trump wrote on his social media account, Truth Social.
The tycoon called Biden “the worst president in US history” and believed that he should not govern the country until the elections in November.
“Biden never had Covid. He is a threat to democracy! This is not over! Tomorrow, corrupt Joe Biden will wake up and forget he dropped out of the race! (…) Who is running our country now? No. It’s Joe, he has no idea where he is. If he can’t run for president, he can’t run our country!” he wrote on social media.
Joe Biden dropped out of the White House race on Sunday after a wave of public and private pressure from Democratic lawmakers and party officials to drop out of the race following his performance in a televised debate last month against Republican challenger Donald Trump. The US president has said he will remain president for the remainder of his term, which ends in January 2025.
“It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President. And while I intended to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interests of my party and country that I step down and focus solely on discharging my duties as President for the remainder of my term,” Biden wrote.
By dropping his reelection bid, Biden clears the way for Vice President Kamala Harris to run for the top spot on the ticket, becoming the first Black woman to do so in the nation’s history.
