This Monday, the Brazilian head of state praised US President Joe Biden, who dropped out of the re-election bid on Sunday, and said the South American country would have a relationship with whoever is elected in the US in November.
“I was very happy when the president [Joe] Biden was elected, and especially because of his position in defense of workers. Together we have established a strategic partnership in defense of decent work around the world. I love and respect him very much,” Lula da Silva wrote in a message on the social network X (formerly Twitter), which includes part of an interview given to foreign media.
“Only him [Biden] could decide whether to be a candidate or not. Now they [Partido Democrata] They will choose a candidate, and the best one will win the election. Brazil’s relationship will be with whoever is elected. We have a strategic partnership with the United States, and we want to maintain it,” he concluded.
