The National Electoral Council of Venezuela (CNE) declared this Monday that the voting system is “fully protected” in terms of integrity and confidentiality for the presidential elections on July 28.
“All the checks were a complete success. Representatives of all political parties were present in each of them, which demonstrated that the system is completely shielded, despite the fact that a small group is trying to discredit the great work done by the electoral authority,” said Elvis Amoroso, president of the CNE.
The statements, according to a statement released this Monday by the CNE, were made after Sunday’s verification “in the presence of the United Nations (UN) Group of Electoral Experts, the Carter Center Research Mission and technical experts from various organizations with political objectives (OPEs).”
