Former US House of Representatives leader and influential Democratic Party figure Nancy Pelosi announced her support for Kamala Harris to replace Joe Biden in the presidential election on Monday.
“It is with great pride and boundless enthusiasm for the future of our country that I endorse Vice President Kamala Harris for President of the United States,” Pelosi wrote in a post on the social media platform X.
“I have witnessed Kamala Harris’ strength and courage as a champion of working families, fighting above all for a woman’s right to choose. I have personally known Kamala Harris for decades as someone rooted in strong values, faith, and a commitment to public service,” Pelosi added, showing confidence that the incumbent vice president would be able to defeat Republican Donald Trump.
