Eight train carriages derailed in Russia’s Volgograd region on Monday, injuring at least 140 passengers and killing two, according to reports. Reuters. The cause was a collision between a truck and a train.
There were more than 800 passengers on the train, traveling from Kazan (Tatarstan) to Adler (Black Sea).
Emergency crews, including an emergency helicopter, were mobilized to the scene.
“There are medical personnel on site,” the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported, adding that 324 operatives are involved in the operation.
