UN agencies have launched a humanitarian response plan for Ukraine and have requested $5.6 billion (€5.2 billion) from the international community to help 15.3 million Ukrainians in 2023.
The plan was unveiled this Wednesday in Geneva at a press conference by UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi and UN Humanitarian Coordinator Martin Griffiths, who highlighted growing needs in Ukraine.
Of the total $3.9 billion (€3.63 billion) will be managed by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), led by Griffiths, with the remaining $1.7 billion (€1.58 billion) going to the Office of the High Commissioner UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), which will help 4.2 million Ukrainians who fled to other European countries.
