Anti-Chavista leader María Corina Machado assured on Monday that the opposition has the means to prove the “overwhelming victory” of its candidate Edmundo González Urrutia in the presidential elections over Nicolás Maduro, whom the Venezuelan authorities have declared re-elected.
“We have 73.20% of the minutes, and with this result, Edmundo González Urrutia became our elected president (…) The difference was so big, so big, the difference was enormous, the difference was in all the states of Venezuela,” the former deputy emphasized, along with Edmundo González Urrutia, the leader of the Democratic Unitary Platform (PUD), the largest opposition bloc.
Machado pointed out that, according to 73.20% of the protocols, Maduro received 2,759,256 votes, and González Urrutia 6,275,182 votes.
