A 17-year-old man suspected of stabbing to death three girls, one of whom was Portuguese, at a dance lesson in Southport, UK, has been charged with three counts of murder and ten counts of attempted murder, Sky News reports.
Alice Aguiar, nine, Bebe King, six, and Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, were killed in the attack at a Taylor Swift-themed lesson in Merseyside on Monday. Eight other children and two adults who attended the event at Hart Space community centre were also injured, with some still in a critical condition.
The suspect in the knife attack is originally from Cardiff, Wales, but lives in Banks, a village near the scene of the attack. Details about the young man are speculation as there are police restrictions on releasing details of underage suspects.
Neighbours say the suspect was a “withdrawn” child and “very close to his mother”. They add that the teenager rarely left the house, with one neighbour claiming to have seen the boy getting into a taxi shortly before the attack. Telegraph.
