The group of five people arrested by the Lisbon PSP on Thursday on suspicion of shooting outside the Lust in Rio nightclub in Lisbon were carrying a large arsenal of weapons and even a flag with a swastika cross (a symbol of Nazi ideology).
Following the arrest, which took place on Thursday at 5:50 a.m. in Rua da Cintura in Porto de Lisboa – the five men had a .38 caliber revolver and a 6.35 mm pistol in their car, as well as two exploding cartridges that made them suspects in the shooting – the PSP carried out at least two house searches. Civilian PSP officers seized a machete, a 6.35 mm pistol, 25 rounds of the same caliber, 69 rounds of 9 mm and a leather holster. One of the suspects had a flag with a swastika (Nazi) cross in his home, which the Public Prosecutor’s Office (MP) will investigate.
However, the official source of Lust in Rio denied this information. CM the occurrence of shots. He even said that he only learned about it from the PSP, “when video surveillance was requested to verify a shot fired in the air by a vehicle moving towards Cais do Sodré.”
However, prosecutors decided that only four of the five detainees should stand trial. Coercive measures were expected to be applied this Friday.
