At least 37 people have been killed and 212 wounded in an attack that followed a bombing at a famous beach restaurant in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, Friday evening. The African country’s government blamed the attack on the Islamic militant group al-Shabaab, which has not claimed responsibility for the attack.
One of the attackers blew himself up and three others were killed by authorities.
One survivor described to Reuters the panic that surrounded the entire situation: “I was in a restaurant, drinking coffee and chatting with friends, when I saw a man running. Then there was a loud explosion. Inside and outside the restaurant, many people were lying on the floor, while others were bleeding and crying.”
