On Monday, the Russian army attacked the Martinovka airfield in the Nikolaev region (southern Ukraine), which was prepared to receive American-made F-16 fighters, said Sergei Lebedev, coordinator of the pro-Russian resistance in the Ukrainian rear.
“A powerful explosion was heard in Martinovka… After two blows [de mísseis] “Occasional secondary explosions are heard against Martinovka. The goal was achieved. Now we hear less powerful explosions, obviously attacking with a smaller caliber,” he said, as quoted by the Russian agency RIA Novosti.
The airfield, located near the city of Voznesensk and prepared to receive F-16 fighters, has warehouses with missiles for the aircraft, and, according to Lebedev, pilots, including foreigners, are based there.
