US President Joe Biden on Tuesday praised the decision of his vice president and Democratic White House nominee Kamala Harris to choose Governor Tim Walz as her running mate.
For Biden, the Harris-Waltz duo “will be a powerful voice for working and middle-class Americans,” Biden wrote on his X social media account. Both “will be the strongest defenders of our individual liberties and our democracy,” he added.
“I’ve known Tim Walz for nearly two decades, first during his time in Congress and as governor. A husband and father, he was a high school teacher and football coach. He served 24 years in the National Guard and became the highest-ranking soldier to serve in Congress,” Biden recalled in his message.
