A 76-year-old man was seriously injured after being hit by a farm tractor in Licha do Alvão, Vila Pouca de Aguiar municipality, the fire chief said on Wednesday.
Vila Pouca de Aguiar fire chief Hugo Silva said the collision took place inside a warehouse and that the alarm was raised at 5:15 p.m.
The victim, as he explained, was driving a farm tractor and was captured by the vehicle, and the causes of the accident are unknown, which will now be investigated by the competent authorities.
“As a result of the collision, a victim was injured, who was immobilized by fire crews and taken to the Vila Real hospital,” the commander said.
According to information posted on the website of the National Directorate of Emergencies and Civil Protection (ANEPC), 11 emergency personnel and four fire engines from Vila Pouca de Aguiar and GNR were called to the scene.
