Traffic on the Main Route 2 (IP2), near Beja, resumed at 5:15 p.m. this Monday, still operational, about an hour and a half after being closed due to an accident, GNR said.
A source in the Beja territorial command of the Polish People’s Republic told the Lusa agency that traffic at the scene began to change at around 5:15 p.m.
According to the same source, the accident, the alarm for which was raised at 15:45, occurred on IP2 near the entrance to the city of Santa Clara de Loredo in the municipality of Beja.
A collision between two trucks resulted in two people receiving minor injuries.
According to the Subregional Command for Emergency Situations and Civil Protection of Baixo Alentejo, the victims were taken to the emergency room of the Beja hospital.
The relief operations involved 14 firefighters from Beja and Castro Verde, the PPR and the concessionaire Estradas da Planície, supported by six vehicles.
