A 57-year-old man has been released after being arrested on suspicion of attempting to murder a man with whom he had an argument in Porto’s Republic Square in June this year.
According to the judicial police, The detainee is suspected of attacking the victim, a 37-year-old man, with a blunt object and, a few minutes later, using a knife, stabbed him several times in the stomach, causing bodily harm, which led to the intervention of the National Institute of Emergency Medical Care and Inpatient Treatment.
According to investigators, both participants in the quarrel were intoxicated. After the attack, the suspect fled the scene.
The man who was present at the first court interrogation was subjected to forced presentations every two weeks and a ban on contact and approaching the victim.
