Six people were rescued at sea in Espinho in 19 minutes by Safetynor rescuers and firefighters from the municipality of Espinho.
Three pre-flood alerts were issued at 16:01, 16:15 and 16:21 on the beaches of Costa Verde, Pop and Serrejas.
All victims were carried away by the current. The effectiveness of the water surveillance and rescue device was worth saving six lives. At Costa Verde Beach, four minors were rescued, all aged 15 from Feira. At Pop Beach, a 30-year-old man was rescued, and at Rusalka Beach, a 40-year-old man.
In addition to the firefighters from the municipality of Espinho and the rescuers from Satennor, the Porto Marine Police were also called.
The victims were given assistance on the spot and did not need to be transported to the hospital.
Firefighters mobilized three ambulances, an ATV and a jet ski.
