A 23-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday in Cascais, Lisbon district, for several crimes related to pornography of minors that he lured through social networks, the Judicial Police (PJ) announced on Wednesday.
According to the SP, “the suspect had in his possession, to some extent not yet fully clarified, several files, videos and images of a sexual nature involving female children,” which will now “become the subject of digital forensics.”
The police emphasized that the detainee began “conversations with minors through profiles created on the social networks TikTok and WhatsApp,” asking children to share intimate images.
The investigation, which included a search of the home, began four months ago after a complaint from the mother of an 11-year-old child that the suspect had asked her to “share sexually explicit images via social media.”
The accused has already been involved in three investigations since 2019 and will be presented to the judicial authorities for the first judicial interrogation and application of coercive measures.
The investigation was carried out by the Leiria Criminal Investigation Department.
