Five hours after he threw three grenades and fired a battle rifle at federal police agents who came to his home to arrest him by order of the Supreme Court, former Brazilian MP Roberto Jefferson finally surrendered and was soon arrested. 22:00 this Sunday, official time in Brazil, 23:10 in Lisbon. He left his home in the city of commandant Levi Gasparyan in the interior of the state of Rio de Janeiro, having received a cheer from a crowd of supporters and taken away by police to an unknown location.
Jefferson, one of President Jair Bolsonaro’s top allies, was under house arrest for threatening Supreme Court judges and inciting the public to break into a courthouse and knock out justices of the peace. But house arrest was lifted this Sunday morning after Roberto Jefferson called one of the court’s judges, Carmen Lucia, a prostitute and whore, and another judge, Alexander de Moraes, ordered him sent to jail.
However, when federal agents arrived, Jefferson opened fire on them and threw at least three grenades, injuring two officers, who were taken to a nearby hospital and discharged hours later. Running for re-election, Jair Bolsonaro tried to disassociate himself from the position of an ally, said that he acted like a bandit and even said that they were not even that close, despite the strong connection between them.
