A 69-year-old man died this Wednesday in a car accident that occurred on Estrada Nacional 267 (EN267) in Almodóvar, Beja, Civil Protection and GNR sources said.
A source from the Subregional Command for Emergency and Civil Protection of Baixo Alentejo told Lusa that the accident, which was alerted at 18:45, occurred at kilometre 99.100 of the EN267 road, which connects Almodóvar and Mértola.
According to the same source, two more people were provided assistance by an ambulance team at the scene.
A source from the Beja territorial command of the NTC, contacted by Lusa, said that the deceased was a passenger in the emergency vehicle.
The Almodóvar Fire Service, the National Institute of Emergency Medicine (INEM) and the GNR were involved in the relief operations, with a total of 21 personnel supported by nine vehicles, including a Basic Life Support (SIV) ambulance and a helicopter.
