The start of the Tour of Spain cycling event, scheduled for 3:30pm this Saturday, will result in a number of traffic restrictions in Lisbon and Oeiras, especially in Marginal.
The highlight of Saturday’s programme will be a 12km time trial between Lisbon’s Empire Square and Praia da Torre in Oeiras, the first of three stages across the country.
The parallel programme also includes other events, such as La Vuelta Juvenil. The race is co-organised by the Portuguese Cycling Federation for young people aged 12 to 16, between Avenida da India and Alcântara. Highlights include the Pedala Portugal cycling tour from 10am to 1pm along the same route as the time trial, and a ‘fan zone’ in the Jardim Vasco da Gama in Lisbon.
