China categorized this Saturday as an “absurd and hysterical reaction” the decision of the United States to shoot down an alleged Chinese “spy” balloon, and considered such an attitude “unacceptable” through foreign policy spokesman Wang Yi.
Wang, director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), confirmed that the balloon shot down by the United States after the object flew over part of the United States had no crew, was a civilian aircraft, and had no remote control capability.
The Chinese “spy” balloon was in US airspace at the end of January and was shot down over the waters of the Atlantic on February 4. A few days earlier, he had flown over several areas of the United States, such as Montana (Northwest of the country), where one of the three nuclear missile silo fields in the United States is located.
