Fifteen people were injured in an explosion on the third floor of a building in Cruz de Pau, in Amor, Seixal, on Sunday. Among the injured were a firefighter and four PSP agents. Residents had to be evicted from the building.
The alarm was received at 15:59. 39 operatives were called to the scene with the support of 18 units of fire equipment. The fire was extinguished at 16:36.
The president of the Seixal city council in the Setubal district said Sunday that none of the residents of the nine-story building where the fire broke out needed a housing response from the municipality.
Speaking to Lusa, Paulo Silva, who was at the scene, explained that the part that burned in the building in Cruz de Pau, parish of Amor, is uninhabitable, and the rest will not be usable this Sunday.
The municipal president reported that all residents indicated that they had found a housing solution together with family members.
