Nine children and two adults were hospitalised on Thursday after a chemical spill at Wembley Leisure Centre in London, England, police said. Sky News.
The victims were enjoying the pool when noxious fumes began to emerge. At 1:14 p.m., firefighters were alerted to a chlorine leak at Vale Farm Sports Centre.
“We deployed a number of staff to the scene, including ambulance crews, incident response officers and members of our Hazardous Area Response Team (HART). We treated nine children and two adults at the scene before taking them to hospital,” explained London Ambulance Service.
The center’s swimming pool is closed until further notice.
