Brazil’s Federal Supreme Court (STF) judge Alexandre de Moraes ordered the suspension of social media platform X in the country on Friday after tycoon Elon Musk failed to comply with an order to appoint a legal representative for the platform in Brazil within 24 hours.
In his decision, Judge Alexandre de Moraes also notified the president of the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) to remove the social network nationwide within a maximum period of 24 hours.
OX will be suspended in Brazil “until all court orders issued in this case are executed, the fines are duly paid and a representative of the natural or legal person in the country is appointed before the court,” the judge said in the decision.
