This Thursday, it was reported that a woman was detained “at the scene of the crime” in Ponta Delgada, in the Azores, on suspicion of drug trafficking in an operation that resulted in the seizure of about 40,000 doses of drugs.
According to a statement from the Azores Criminal Investigation Department of the Judicial Police (SP), the arrest of the 25-year-old woman occurred “as part of a police operation carried out in the municipality of Ponta Delgada.” on Sao Miguel Island, which resulted in the “seizure of 18 kg of hashish and 350 grams of MDMA/ECSTASY” for a total of “more than 40,000 average daily individual doses”.
The SP also adds that the woman is “strongly accused of drug trafficking.”
GNR participated in the operation.
After the first judicial interrogation, a “coercive measure of restraint” was applied to the woman, the SP also notes.
