Guinean authorities have been looking for a Polish citizen who went missing on Rubane Island in the Bijagos archipelago for a week now, a government source told Lusa on Friday.
According to the source, the man, who settled in a hotel room on this island, disappeared a week ago when he went for a walk with other colleagues.
Colleagues returned, but the man decided to continue the tour and did not appear again, the source explained.
More than 50 members of various security forces, including the judicial police, are searching for the man at the scene, with the support of citizens who have volunteered to support the search.
Less than 200 people live on Rubane Island, according to the 2009 census, and only two hotels.
