Two Israelis were killed this Sunday in a shootout in the north of the occupied West Bank, during a time of high tension and escalation of violence in the region weeks ago, Israeli medical authorities said.
The shooting took place on a road in the Palestinian city of Nablus, in the northern West Bank, when a “terrorist drove” to an intersection and “opened fire on an Israeli vehicle,” the Israeli military detailed in a statement.
The victims, two men in their 20s, were seriously injured and were pronounced dead shortly thereafter while being transported to hospital, emergency medical service spokesman Magen David Adom (MDA) told the Spanish news agency EFE.
