The District Court of Sao Vicente Island in Cape Verde applied preventive detention to a suspect in crimes such as child prostitution and revenge pornography, the Judicial Police (PJ) said Thursday.
The SP statement said the operation was carried out by Criminal Investigation Mindelo and resulted in the arrest of a 41-year-old man born on the island of Santo Antao, outside the scene of the crime, “for crimes against sexual abuse of minors, child prostitution and revenge pornography “.
Searches of the house, based on a warrant issued by the Comarca San Vicente Ministry of Public Administration, also resulted in the seizure of computer equipment and a 6.35 mm pistol.
The detainee was present at the San Vicente District Court for the purpose of conducting the first judicial interrogation and application of a measure of coercion, pending the development of the pre-trial detention process, according to the SP.
